Make a General Donation
If you prefer to make a direct donation to the Campaign, that option is also available. As you well know, the success of our mission and the daily work carried out by our employees, doctors, and volunteers would not be possible without the support of partners and donors like you. The well-being of our patients and the support of their loved ones are at the heart of our work and our priorities – and have been for nearly 15 years! Thank you for your generosity!
Our Mission
La Maison’s mission is to offer free services to adults at the end of life, so they can spend their final days peacefully, receiving high-quality palliative care, supported by a compassionate team and surrounded by their loved ones, in a calm, serene, and warm environment.

Mr. Antonio Santos
Honorary President
My mom, Cristina Santos, was a patient for six weeks at La Maison de la Sérénité. In 2024, she left us peacefully, comfortably, and with all her dignity.
As her son, I can say without hesitation that she was the best mom in the world. She was joyful, social, and full of life. At La Maison, she formed meaningful bonds with the nurses, PABs, doctors, and volunteers. She felt safe opening up, and she knew the team truly cared about her—her story, her needs, her past, and, above all, about her as a human being, not just as a patient.
La Maison de la Sérénité truly is an extension of home. Within its walls, there is love, compassion, laughter, music, high-quality care, tears, kindness, family moments, homemade meals, birds on the patio, fresh flowers every Friday, and so much more. From the very first time I walked through the doors, I knew this house was special. My mom received the best end-of-life care possible, but what we were given as a family went far beyond that.
Our community needs more places like La Maison.
During the holiday season, we are reminded to give back—to feed the hungry, to support those in need, to bring comfort where there is pain. But how often do we think about end-of-life care? Imagine Laval families this December, gathering around a Christmas tree, cherishing final moments with a loved one they know will not be there next year. La Maison makes those moments possible—free of charge, with dignity and love.
I invite you, from the bottom of my heart, to join me this holiday season in supporting the only palliative care residence in Laval. Your generosity ensures that families, like mine, can experience those final, precious moments surrounded by compassion, peace, and humanity.
Thank you for standing with La Maison de la Sérénité this holiday season.

Mrs. Nicole Buchanan
Executive Director
Our traditional 2025 Holiday Campaign takes on a very special meaning this year as we celebrate La Maison’s 15th anniversary.
The activities and initiatives began on January 16 to honour the vision of our founders, the generosity of our donors and community, as well as the exceptional contribution of our employees, physicians, and volunteers.
This Holiday Campaign is meant for everyone — whether you lost a loved one at La Maison or elsewhere — the goal is to pay tribute to the memory of that special person. Our interactive village allows you to purchase a star, a snowman, a house, and more in their name. During this festive time of year, filled with gatherings and joyful moments, we often think of those who are no longer with us but remain dear to our hearts. Why not purchase a candle to place in one of our trees, as a reminder of cherished family moments?
By contributing to this Campaign, either by making a purchase in our virtual village or by donating, you enable La Maison de la Sérénité to continue its mission in a world where kindness and altruism are more needed than ever.
The city of Laval and its residents are fortunate to have access to a palliative care home that ensures a dignified and compassionate end-of-life care.
Thank you for supporting La Maison for the past 15 years — our presence is essential to meet the growing needs of our community.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays!
– Mrs. Nicole Buchanan, Executive Director, La Maison de la Sérénité
